Story of an Engineer- part 2

Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee with the end less sound of machinery running around me , hmc , vmc , turning machines with a compressed air gun kept hanging to all of us.. the leakage sound of pressured air , a endless flow of mass production pieces completing first operation , second operation and coming to me , like a piled up pieces kept right side to me on a tray , my job is to take both LH and RH piece air clean it , putting it in the position mentioned in jig fixtures and ensuring the clamping pressure with the indication of green light and then to start for the operation to proceed mean while , the previous pallet that i kept for machining will be ready for changing.
We had to clean and check the dimensions with all those snap gauge , plug gauge , and  ensuring the dimensions are in the tolerance level are maintained..
There will be no glows to protect our hands from getting cut by those sharp edges . Nature will turn our hands hard enough to take all those cuts over a period of time.Run time was 1minute and 10 seconds per pallet and that's the free time ive got and a break for tea at 11 am that will be brought in a drum with its own peculiar sound , its a four wheel pushable tray with one water bucket , one plastic bucket in the underneath of the tray were all the splling tea waste will get collected , and few tumblers of small size. That gets washed with the bucket of water and repeated the same for serving 3k employee's on morning shift , just imagine the condition of water in bucket  That was the time we could be away from machines for time being , there is a rule not to sit in plant so for the entire 8 hours , and violating rules will result in good words from my line inspectors , there is no point of sitting and getting those treatment , body nature gets adopted to it on days run , after tea back again to machines and continued with the same process of changing pieces and it's never ending rain.. il pass over those to the nxt person for the next operation and the process continues , day my day getting adopted by this routine of 7am , 3pm , 12am starting time of shifts and extra hours of work , handling the same machining pieces getting scratched all over hands even making friends of all categories , line mates , tea vallas who are mostly northeastern indians . ITI , Diploma mates even packing ladies too.. on the run of 2 months the strength of 24 engineering students went to a count of 15 boys including 1 automobile girl with us. The day of salary will be issued in hand to all the employees in a imaginary straight line , rushing and pushing for getting that sum in a counter were only hands are visible for receiving..
Just Roll number and a signature was enough - we got paid , excluding the attendance , all 14 except 1 were standing behind each other and waited for getting salary looking and wondering the way everything is happening , still keeping up the line , waiting for our turn , we got our proper one month salary and back to plant..the remaining 1 did his night shift and came to receive the salary , compromising his sleep , he came waited and got his salary too. When he was going out of gate he wasn't allowed to go out and those security's said him to work , that made him to a stage of maximise anger , he was a counseling student , a studious fellow i our class , the out break of his anger he throw those cash on the face of that security and getting a slap in return , were all those security's joined and cornering him.. someone whom I know came to my bay and told me that ur friend got slapped by security in gate.. i just dropped those pieces and got all the others as we went to see him... That's the first time ever i saw him crying and weeping.. even i moved to tears.. we tried consoling him we couldn't directly hit back the security as the setup was like that..a small security was overpowering us just imagine the state of other employees.
we gone back to work as it was too late and told him to wait on the benches outside canteen and we returned to work got heavy scolded for leaving the machining pieces just like that.. and accused for the slow down of production.. lunch siren rang.. and we went back to see him in those benches he was not there... no mobiles were allowed , couldn't contact him too.. next was lunch break just opposite to those benches with the shades of tree and a long washbasin and soap oil in a big drum was our hand wash area.. it will take minutes to clean ones hand and then stand pushing each other again for food , they give us with tokens of 5rs for rice a bowl of rice and few vegetables we usually get 2 rice bowls and eat it not even leaving a single rice coz such was the state of hunger.. siren sound again back to work doing the same process and will end the shift go back to our rooms with the vans they provided and fall on bed with zero percent energy , the room no 6 were we stayed was another different thing , one fellows alarm in 12th room will wake everyone , coz we shared a single asbestos roof on top and the rooms were partitioned under it..
Coming back to the fellow who had that legendary guts , we phone called him and he said I'm in net center will come back soon.. he didn't talk to us that night , neither he didn't go for his night shift too.. we slept that night.. all together in that single room closing upon each other in a 2 or 3 blankets..and those TV s running around the other rooms.. how much ever we tried conveying them to off it.. they never did that.. and we got adjusted for almost every single thing..
We were the kings and queens during our college days and when life needs us to be this way we get adjusted to it too , that's the beauty of engineers and engineering students.. more over there was something unexpected in the next day. That totally brought all our lifes upside down..
